Customize Kairo

Skills, writing styles, and where to find Kairo's other settings.

Open Customize from the Kairo sidebar. It has tabs for Crew, Memory, Routines, Skills and Writing Styles.

Skills

A skill is reusable know-how that Kairo pulls in when a task calls for it, such as how your team writes release notes or files a bug.

  • Create a skill with a name, a description of when to use it, and instructions in Markdown (SKILL.md). Add files the skill can refer to, such as templates or examples.
  • Personal skills are yours. Workspace skills are shared with everyone in the workspace. Built-in skills come with Coline.
  • Kairo picks a skill when its description matches the task. Pin a skill to keep it active in every conversation, or turn one off.
  • Type / in the composer to use a skill directly.

Writing styles

A writing style sets how Kairo sounds when it writes for you: mail, messages and documents.

  • From example: paste a paragraph or two in the style you want.
  • From personality: describe it, such as "short and warm, no exclamation marks".
  • Write prompt: write the instructions yourself.

Set one style as your default. Kairo always writes plainly and without filler; a style changes tone and voice on top of that.

Elsewhere

  • Crew: what your crew may do without asking, approvals you've given, and the daily digest. See Kairo Crew.
  • Memory: what Kairo remembers about you. See memory.
  • Routines: standing work. See routines.
  • Preferences: turn off sending what you have open with each message (live context).
