# Getting started

> Create an account and a workspace, invite your team, and find your way around.

## Create an account

Sign up at [coline.app](https://coline.app) with your email and a password, or with Google or GitHub. You can turn on two-factor authentication in your account settings.

Every account comes with a **personal workspace** that only you can see. It's free and stays free. To work with other people, create a **team workspace** or join one you're invited to.

## Start a team workspace

Create a team workspace from the workspace switcher. Team workspaces start with a 14-day trial with no card needed, for up to 5 people. When the trial ends, the owner picks a plan and adds billing; until then the workspace is paused, and everything in it stays readable. See [plans](/plans).

## Invite people

In **Settings → Members**, invite people by email or share an invite link. People you invite join as:

| Role | Can |
| ------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Owner | Everything, including billing and deleting the workspace |
| Admin | Full access to the workspace, including members, apps and settings |
| Member | Use everything in the workspace that's shared with members |
| Guest | Only what's shared with them, such as specific channels and files |

To work with people at another company without adding them to your workspace, share a channel with [Coline Connect](/connect) instead.

## Bring your data

**Settings → Import** brings in data from Linear, Notion, Slack and Google Workspace. Imports map people between systems, run in the background, resume if interrupted, and keep a history. See [importing data](/workspace/import).

## Find your way around

* **Home** shows your day: what's next, what's in motion, and what's waiting on you. See [Home](/home).
* **Tabs** keep apps and files open across the top. `⌘1` to `⌘9` switch tabs, and opening an app reuses its tab.
* **New tab** (`⌘T`) lists apps by how often you use them. Type a plan, a task or a question and it offers to schedule it, create a task, ask Kairo, or search.
* **Search** (`⌘K`) finds anything in the workspace and runs commands, including app commands.
* **Kairo** is available from its own page, the sidebar, and `@kairo` in conversations. See [Kairo](/kairo/overview).
* **Inbox** collects notifications, messages and mail. See [Inbox](/inbox).

On Windows and Linux, use `Ctrl` where these docs say `⌘`.

## Desktop app

[Coline for Mac](https://coline.app/download) (Apple Silicon) adds:

* **Quick Access:** `⌃⌥C` opens Coline search from any app. Turn it on in the app menu or your account settings.
* **Split view:** two tabs side by side.
* **Local Code projects:** open folders on your Mac in [Code](/code) and run agents against them.
* Dock badges, a built-in PDF viewer, and your workspace, window size and tabs remembered between launches.

The Windows app isn't available yet.
