# Drive

> Every file in the workspace, organized in drives and folders.

Drive holds every file in the workspace: docs, sheets, notes, taskboards, uploads, and files created by apps. Files appear wherever they're used, such as a channel's tabs, a message, or a Kairo reply, but they live in Drive.

## Drives and folders

* A workspace has **shared drives** for teams and a **personal drive** for each member. Apps get their own drive for files they create.
* The sidebar lists **Recent**, **Starred** and each drive, with a folder tree that opens to where you are.
* Switch between list and grid. Grid cards show image thumbnails and page covers.
* Filter and sort any folder. Select several files to act on them together.

## Working with files

* **Create** docs, sheets, notes and folders from the **New** menu, or upload files of any type. Interrupted uploads pick up where they left off.
* **Move** files by dragging them onto a drive, a folder, or a folder in the path. Moves and trash have undo.
* **Star** files to find them quickly.
* **Open** PDFs and images in place. Word files open in [Docs](/docs).
* **Trash** keeps deleted files until you empty it or restore them.

## Sharing

Share any file from its **Share** menu:

* **People with access:** add members, or invite people by email.
* **Link access:** **Restricted** (only people added), **Coline users with link**, or **Anyone with link**, even without a Coline account.
* **Publish to web:** a clean, readable public page, with an optional password. Unpublish any time.

## Search

Workspace search (`⌘K`) covers file names and contents. Kairo can find and read any file you can open.
