# Coline Connect

> Work with people outside your workspace in shared channels.

Coline Connect lets you share a channel with people at other companies without making them members of your workspace. They only ever see what's been shared with them.

## Share a channel

* Use **Share** in any channel's header, or create a channel with the **Shared** option in the new channel dialog.
* Invite people by email. They join free as guests, with their name filled in, an optional photo, and Google sign-in.
* Team workspaces always show a **Connect** group in the sidebar, and the Connect hub has **New shared channel**.

## What guests get

Guests use Coline at [coline.app/connect](https://coline.app/connect), in real time:

* the channels shared with them, and DMs with people they share a conversation with
* threads, reactions, files, link previews, calls and search
* optional desktop notifications

When a guest is away, new messages reach them as batched email, and they can reply by email, attachments included. Those replies are marked "via email".

## Connect two workspaces

If the person you invite already uses Coline, their workspace can connect to the shared channel with their admin's approval. Each side keeps working in its own workspace. Disconnecting leaves both sides with read-only history.

## Kairo and agents

Kairo can answer in shared conversations, using only what's in that conversation. In a channel's settings you can let partners ask your agents for help, or keep agents to your own team.
